What Kind of Pool Finish Do You Need?

Your pool finish plays a critical role in the appearance of your pool.

Your pool will be a beautiful and enjoyable outdoor paradise that your whole family loves, but it’s important to choose the right finish. Picking a proper pool finish usually isn’t at the forefront of most potential pool owners’ minds, but it has a huge impact on what kind of pool you own. It’s the surface you walk along on the pool floor, which is important for your comfort. It’s also a big part of your pool’s style and can be a determining factor in whether or not your pool looks as great as it should or not.

Pebble Tec

Pebble Tec is the cream of the crop and the top of the line, so for a luxury experience, it may be the best bet. It’s made from pebble aggregate and can offer a unique and durable pool finish. Pebble Technology makes a few different versions of this pool finish. Pebble Tec uses larger pebbles in their entirety, whereas Pebble fina uses the smallest stones and crushed bits to form the smoothest version. Pebble Sheen however uses small stones in their entirety to look similar to Pebble Tec but with a more refined texture. Pebble Tec is a long lasting pool finish that will look great.

Quartzite isn’t quite as durable as Pebble Tec, but still more durable than something like plaster. It’s created from tiny pieces of quartz. This gives it an opaque look to make your pool look sparkling and magic. It also offers a unique feeling and gives you an impression of sand being beneath your feet. For a truly unique pool experience, quartz may be the best pool finish for you.

Plaster has the shortest lifespan of all pool finish options. It’s also the least customizable when compared to things like Pebble Tec and quartz. The benefits of going with plaster, however, are that it feels smooth to the touch, which some people love. It’s also going to be the least costly of all options up-front, but keep in mind that it will need to be replaced much quicker.
