Saltwater Pools: Make the Switch!

There are several reasons why you should make the switch to saltwater for your pool.

There are several reasons why you should make the switch to saltwater for your pool.

You may not know this if you own a pool, but you don’t have to deal with traditional chlorine water that irritates your skin and eyes.  An alternative to traditional chlorination is salt water, and over a half of new pool installations use it in their system.  The professionals at Rhine Pools can make the transition to saltwater as simple as possible.  Saltwater systems are a popular option that will benefit the whole family even the little ones!

A Brief Overview

If you are new to the topic of saltwater pools, there are some things to be aware of.  Despite the name, salt water systems are nearly not as salty as seawater; they have about one-tenth the salinity of a typical ocean.  These systems are also not completely chlorine-free.  Salt-water pools create their own chlorine through a process called electrolysis which disinfects the water without adding chlorine directly to the water.

Safer Method

Salt water pools are much gentler on the skin and eyes because they have a much lower chlorine content than traditional methods.  So, you will not have to deal with irritated, red eyes when leaving the pool anymore.  Saltwater systems are a safer alternative to chlorine pools because you no longer have to handle chlorine.  The transportation and storage of chlorine is a dangerous process that poses many threats to the people involved.  Regular exposure to heavily-chlorinated water has been reported to have negative health effects.

Easy Maintenance

Salt-cells produce the right amount of chlorine that is needed for use, so maintenance is made simple.  You still have to monitor chemical level periodically, but it is less time intensive than caring for a traditional pool.  Now you have more time to enjoy your pool and spend time with the whole family.
