Swimming Pool Safety Tips for your Backyard Pool

With the summer season in full swing, many families and friends are enjoying swimming and enjoying the summer weather and many things to do.  With swimming pools, though, there are many important safety tips that should be heeded by everyone.  Here are some of our most highly recommendations at keeping everyone safe in and around your pool.

Secure the Perimeter

A law in most states, it is imperative that you have a gate-latching fence around your entire swimming pool and/or spa.  The suggested minimum height is four feet.  The locking mechanism must be self-locking/latching.

Safety Cover

When your swimming pool is not in use, it is recommended that you keep it covered.  Be sure to remove all ladders or or steps beforehand.  A water or sensor alarm is also suggested.

Safety Protocol

Be sure everyone knows how to respond in the event of an emergency.  From heat exhaustion or dehydration, to drowning in or out of the pool, it is imperative that a method is established.
